Through his latest photoshoot with Marie Claire Korea, actor Kim Soo Hyun shed his school boy charms for a more mature style that emphasized his charisma in black and white.
Different from his role of ‘Sam Dong’ in KBS’s “Dream High,” the photoshoot aimed to capture his real age of 24 through crisp and modern clothes and deep, emotional gazes.
A representative of the magazine commented, “He’s an actor with a smart feel of what he needs to do in order to express a certain image. He created beautiful cuts that led us all to believe he was a professional model, and also understood all of the clothing and concepts we were aiming for. His ability to express all of that is amazing.”

At the press conference for SBS’s upcoming drama, “Midas,” held at the Amoris Hall on February 21st, actor Jang Hyuk revealed his thoughts on passing up Hyun Bin’s character, ‘Kim Ju Won,’ in the hit drama series, “Secret Garden.”
After completing KBS’s “Chuno” last March, “Midas” marks the actor’s first return in a little under a year. He was previously revealed to have declined Hyun Bin’s role during his hiatus, to which he commented, “‘Secret Garden’ was an excellent work, and I’m glad that Hyun Bin participated in it and has now become an actor with a deeper quality to him than before. I’ll be working harder in ‘Midas’ in an effort to express my character well instead.”
When asked about his standards in choosing work, he replied, “I consider whether the character fits me, and whether I’ll be able to create him. I also consider my communication level with those I’ll be working with.”
Jang Hyuk will be playing the role of ‘Kim Do Hyun,’ a perfect elite that puts his life on the line for his greed over money. “Midas” will begin airing at 9:55 PM KST on February 22nd.

Park Min-young has been selected as the lead female actress in the drama "City Hunter".
She will be playing Kim Na-na, a former Judo athlete and current bodyguard in the Blue House in the drama "City Hunter" that is due to be first broadcast on the 25th of May.
Kim Na-na lost her parents in an accident and has survived by doing anything and everything she could to make a living. She then becomes a bodyguard in the Blue House and eventually falls in love with Lee Yoon-sung (Lee Min-ho) who is in the Blue House National Communications Team. Park Min-yeong is about to show herself in a sweaty blue Judo uniform and a neat and slick black suit.
The production for "City Hunter" conveyed, "It took some time to choose the cast and we were revolving around synchrony and acting skills. We decided with Park Min-young as our lead female because of her bright and healthy image and her acknowledgment from several dramas told us she was the one to play Kim Na-na".
Meanwhile, this will be the first time in four years since the drama in 2007 "I Am Sam" Park Min-young and Lee Min-ho will be getting together.

There’s a lot of excitement from the Korean musical community, as it was revealed that Lee Ji Na was named as its director, and popular composer Kim Hyung Suk will be in charge of the music. Lee Ji Na directed numerous musicals like “Midas Touch“, ”Hedwig“, “Greece“, “The Great Jang Geum“, and “The Phantom of the Opera“. Meanwhile, composer Kim Hyung Suk has worked with some of Korea’s biggest names in the music industry: his works with Shin Seung Hoon, Sung Shi Kyun, and Kim Jo Han have made his name especially popular amongst ballad fans.
With Song Seung Hun and Kim Tae Hee gaining much love as the “pure-eyed couple”, the musical is now facing the difficult task of casting lead actors who could follow in their footsteps.
A curtain call publisher stated, “I believe that the unique material of the reconstruction of Imperial Korea will fit well with the music and a new musical will be born. I expect there will be much discussion about the musical because of the popularity of the drama.”
He added, “Currently, a script is in the works and a huge audition will be held this June to cast the lead roles. After preparations are complete, we will meet the audience for 80 showings in March 2012.”
